Code Chapter 2600, not Chapter 2800. Act 56 of 2007 prohibits using the term "assisted living" unless properly licensed as an assisted living residence.”

“A one-gallon bottle of liquid laundry detergent marked "Danger" was found unlocked, unattended, and accessible in the laundry room. The facility is licensed as a SDCU and not all residents have been assessed as capable of recognizing and using poisonous materials safely.”

“The thermometer in the home's dairy and juice reach-in cooler was broken and inoperable, making it impossible to verify that food requiring refrigeration was stored at or below 40°F.”

“An uncovered tray containing 10 pre-assembled grilled cheese sandwiches was found in the Traulsen cooler in the home's kitchen, violating the requirement that food be stored in closed or sealed containers.”

“Fire drill records for six fire drills combined the census for both the personal care SDCU and assisted living residence licenses, making it unable to determine if all SDCU residents were properly evacuated to a public thoroughfare or fire-safe area during these drills.”

“A resident's medical evaluation indicated the resident cannot safely use or avoid poisonous materials; however, the resident's assessment indicated the resident has no problem using and avoiding poisonous materials. This discrepancy is problematic for a facility licensed as a SDCU where such capability is essential.”
