“Based on observation and interview, the manager failed to ensure medication stored by the assisted living facility was stored in a locked self-contained unit. The deficient practice posed a risk to residents who were not prescribed the accessible medication. Findings include: 1 . During an environmental inspection of the facility, the Compliance Officer observed a medication container in the fridge with a number lock. However, when the Compliance Officer attempted to open the container, it was able to be opened and the Compliance Officer was able to access medication including Lorazepam and Morphine. 2 . In an exit interview, the findings were discussed with E1 and no additional information was provided.”

The deficient practice posed a risk to the physical health and safety of a resident. Findings include: 1 . During an environmental inspection of the facility, the Compliance Officer observed a magnetic key sitting on the sink in the kitchen. The Compliance Officer was able to use the magnetic key to unlock the cabinet underneath the sink and access the following: -A box of "Cascade Complete" detergent pods; -A bottle of "Cif" all purpose cleaning cream; -A bottle of "Great Value" glass cleaner; and -A bottle of gas range cleaner. 2 . In an exit interview, the findings were discussed with E1, and no additional information was provided.”
